• ROOT Inc. has selected as a development team for 2001 research-and-development project of Telecommunications Advancement Organization of Japan.

In the research-and-development project of 2001 fiscal year, Telecommunication Advancement Organization of Japan (TAO) has adopted the solution suggested by the collaboration team, whose members are ROOT Inc., Mobile Internet service Inc., Kyoto University, Advanced software technology and Mechatronics research Institute KYOTO, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Keio University, and Institute of Systems & Information Technologies/KYUSHU.

With the theme of "research and development of a mobile network base system", the above group intends to develop IPv6 Internet connectivity function for mobile communication, such as, cellular phone and PDA, security protection, authentication and hand over function to realize IP Internet service in mobile environment. The group is planning to conduct the actual proof experiment by 100 base stations, and 500 terminals.
