- ROOT Inc. agreed on development of wireless broadband base station using single core-type and the optical interface
ROOT Inc. (president : Hiroshi Mano) and Fujikura, Inc. (president : Akira Tsujikawa) agreed to develop the wireless broadband base station that adopted single fiber optical interface.
Both have already sold RGW2400 series base stations that enable connecting to optical fiber directly, in an electric company system communication career. Now, both intend to newly develop and sell the interface products of the WDM system, which enable two-way communications between wireless base stations and a hubs by single core- optical fiber.
By using wavelength division duplex, any station requires only one single- mode fiber on this system, the total number of core become half of former type. Thereby, it is possible to reduce the cost and make the infrastructure maintenance more efficient for the local governments.
ROOT Inc. already united the wireless with optical fiber backbone, and has supplied "RGW2400 series" which realizes broadband IP career service with a two core multi-drops type to the Career Company that owns optical fiber networks, such as local governments, electric companies, and electric railroad companies.
From now, both companies will propose and sell the total solution system including ensemble type media converter to communication career and local-government where carried the optical fiber.
