Features
EWeighs only 500g, super-small so as not to occupy too much space
@(95(W)x139.5(D)x33(H)mm), can be mounted on a motorbike
EDesigned tough to stand up to vibrations and use in vehicles, and operating temperatures
@ranging from |10 to 50 C.
EProvides seamless IP mobility regardless of access media, whether wireless LAN (2.4GHz)
@
or PHS
EProvides safe and secure wireless LAN even in public thanks to high-level verification and
@
strong security technologies
ERealizes seamless IP network access for wireless LAN even while moving at speeds of 300
@
km/hr with high-speed handover technology
EWide variety of terminal devices such digital cameras and the like can be used even inside
@a vehicle thanks to true network mobility
ETracking services and location information possible through use of positioning information
Use scenarios
Using the mobile router for vehicles, the following scenarios could be possible business creation opportunities. Many of these opportunities fit well with the Intelligent Transport System (ITS), a cutting-edge transportation system promoted by the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
@@
EUse by train, bus, taxi operators, transportation providers, etc., for access to IP network
@infrastructure and providing advertising, news, information broadcasting services, as well
@as location and security systems, to users.
EUse for access to operating systems in the field of logistics, such as delivery trucks,
@motorcycle express delivery, vehicles operating inside warehouse, etc.
- Installed on buses, delivery vehicles/motorbikes, work vehicles. Establish wireless LAN base stations at central points such as bus stops, logistics centers, offices, etc. Vehicles and motorcycles move about the city while connected to the Internet over PHS and automatically connect to wireless LAN upon return to the center. As the center has a wide bandwidth, reception and sending of large amounts of business data, etc., is possible there. While in transit the IP connection is preserved by the PHS network so that location information, etc., can be managed in real time. Since the system is a general purpose IP-based mobile communications system, a wide variety of management is possible through VoIP, POS, connection location information, etc.
In addition, since a safe, secure network environment is realized even in public places with high-level verification and strong security technologies, installation is possible for vehicles working at disaster scenes and emergency medical vehicles as well. This would enable real-time image and voice communication with the command center, as well as construction of broadband Internet access lines and other applications in outdoor security systems.
